A 3-way fridge is also known as an absorption fridge, as it uses absorption technology. It removes the heat rather than creating the cold. It uses heat to provide energy needed to drive the cooling system.

The three sources of power are LPG, 12V and 240V. On average absorption fridges have a longer life span than compressor fridges, only needing replacement after 20+ years.

The frige is extremely efficient on gas – this is where these types of caravan fridges are very popular; if you intend to free camp for longer periods then running your 3 way fridge on gas can last you around 2-3 weeks on a 9kg gas bottle (approx.).
