How do I protect my caravan tyres?
There are a few things you can do to ensure your caravan and motorhome tyres remain in tip-top condition, helping save money and, most importantly, keeping you and your family safe.
- Ensure you keep your tyres at the correct pressure. This not only helps maximise the lifespan of the tyres by preventing uneven wear, but also makes it safer to drive.
- Consider using tyre savers to prevent flat spots when your RV is parked over a long period of time.
- If you’ve parked up over summer or for the long-term, consider using a caravan cover that also covers your tyres to protect them from sun exposure.
How do you use a caravan leveller?
The first step toward getting your caravan level is to start with a site that is as flat as possible – the flatter the site, the simpler it is to adjust your levelling gear. Next, level the caravan axle (right to left) which usually involves using a ramp on one side. Finally, level the caravan from front to back using the jockey wheel. Once you’re all level, lower your corner steadies.
What is the best way to level a motorhome?
There are a few different types of motorhome levellers. A simple and cost-effective option is to use durable RV levelling ‘ramps’ – available from your local RV Super Centre - that you manually place under your wheels. Another option is to have your motorhome or caravan fitted with a levelling system or levelling legs. It’s a good idea to have a spirit level on board to check that you’re as level as possible.
